Today is my first Pay Day from Sylvan. I totally thought that getting a pay check would be this awesome. Well. . . for the most part because Clint has been the big bread winner the last month and a half I've felt like a total slacker in the money making business, although I've been working. I had last night off, so that was nice. Hoping that I get to go in today. Don't get me wrong, I love having days off. . . but I would prefer those to be the weekends, which I always have off. We went to see Clint's nephew Trace play baseball last night. He almost hit one out of the park. Not bad for a soon to be fourth grader.
I was so proud of myself yesterday. Our cupboards are getting pretty bare, which is a good thing. It means that all that food that was bought at the shower in November (it was a stock the pantry Bridal Shower) has almost been eaten. Anyways . . . I was CRAVING Brownies. Not just any brownies. I wanted gooey fudgy brownies. However, Pay Day is today not yesterday. So I pulled out my "Dining on a Dime" cookbook, and began to flip through the pages trying to find a brownie recipe that had the same ingrendients that I had in my cabinets. I hit jack-pot! Find the best most awesome brownie recipe in the whole world. Made them. . . Clint came home happy to know I didn't have to work. . . Hamburger Helper ready to eat. . . fresh tea. . . oh yeah and my homemade from scratch brownies. They didn't last very long. We both ate way to many brownies yesterday but they were damn good. I also made homemade Mac and Cheese from scratch yesterday for dinner. Yum... pretty tasty too.
I'm looking forward to next week. I start working from 8:30-12:30 M-F. Which will be nice because then I can cook again. It's been rough not being able to have dinner or lunch with Clint. Our schedules haven't been the same for a litte while, but starting next week, that changes. We've also decided that we are going to start biking again. Clint' job this week is to get the bikes ready to ride starting this weekend. I'm excited about that. Clint was big into biking before we starting dating, in fact he rode through Ireland while in High School. I want to do that as well, but it takes ALOT of training, so we are starting that.
No word on any job yet. But I'm staying positive. The light bulb came on the other day for me. I have lots of options for myself with my degree, and I'll find something. Even if I have to sub or be a para for the 2006-2007 school year. I should hear something from Harrisonville the end of this week or so. I've also applied for a job in Excelsior Springs, MO (North of Liberty on 69 Hwy). Something is bound to happen. All my bad Karma is about to turn into good Karma at some point here in the near future.
I think I might make another batch of those brownies. . .
